My daughter turns eighteen today,
The youngest of four.I am feeling today my job is done,
They are all capable of closing the door.I wish I had some wise parting words,
I don’t, I know they have more.I brought them up best I could,
Now they leave me in awe.I marvel at their independence,
And yet cringe at some choices they make. They are important to all the people,
Leaving their world glowing in their wake.
